I always wanted to do a gateway card and I'm not quite sure why I haven't... Anyhoo, this is my first attempt at the gateway card, I totally love how it turned out!!
Patterned paper: Costmo Cricket "Honey Pie" collection
Pink Cardstock: Colorbok Textured Cardstock pastels (From WALMART $6 for 30 pages!)
Grown with love rub-ons: S.E.I. Rub-ons Gerti collection
Flowers: from Plantin' Schoolbook Cricut Cartridge
Buttons and hemp: From my scraps
I can't wait to give this card to my Sister-in-Law! She just had a baby girl (I'm a first time auntie!) and I wanted to congratulate her on becoming a Mommy!
I've only been scrapbooking for a couple of years now. This is my very first experience scrapbooking, my very first page. A very good friend invited me to this a scrapbooking club session, because she was invited and didn't want to go alone. I went because I adore her, and even though I had interest in scrapbooking, I didn't THAT day. Needless to say, when I sat at that table, filled with piles of paper, embellishments, glue and whatnots I was very overwhelmed. Where the heck was I supposed to start, and am I really creative enough to do this? I wasn't giving up that easy. So, armed with my handful of photos I got to work. I remember cutting out every single letter (I had no idea what a Cricut was, and THAT would have really come in handy). The ladies were so fun and supportive! There was no looking back. I've since spent a lot of time and ::prepare for impact::, money on this hobby and I'll be forever grateful for the day my dear friend drug me along to that crop. I've found my newest passion. I'm not great at it by any means. I'm happy with that, it means I can get better. I just love doing it!
