Playing with layers!

I've been challenging myself to play around with layering and embellishments. I want to add dimension and contrast to my stuff. Something I love about crafting, is you can always get better. There's always something to learn and always room for growth! It's art! So I tried to do that with this card. I threw it together with lots of stuff I had laying around. I really like the way it turned out! I hope to be able to get better at this! Enjoy!

Some people think I'm nuts...

I think I'm prepared! I mean, if you think about it, this is the end of July, therefore October is only TWO months away... That's nothing! Time is gonna fly by. Plus, we just bought this house and we haven't been here for a Halloween yet, so I need to make decor for a lot of rooms! I'm prepared. ^_^

Ribbons and Rosettes is one of my favorite cartridges, I've been eyeing the spider & web rosette for a while and have been meaning to make this banner for a while. It's a surprise the I hadn't done it already. ;o)

To make things even funnier, I had my Cameo and E2 going at the same time. I was a crafting WARRIOR yesterday. It took me a while, but I was able to finish it up today!

I can't wait until the time comes that I can decorate my whole mantel!

I cut the rosette at 2.5" and the spider at 3". Then I put spray adhesive and glittered it up. It would have been SO SO much easier if I had glitter paper. I hot glued everything together and decided to keep some of the glue strings, it looks like spiderwebs!!

Also, I found this saying on Pintrest and I had to try it. I got a canvas and painted it silver, cut the words and rats out of vinyl and put them on the silver (after it had dried of course). I painted over that with black and when it was dry, I removed the vinyl! You can find the pin here. I *think* I'm going to put this on our front door to greet the trick or treaters!

I also found these little 3-D pop up haunted houses at Lettering Delights. It's a cute little cut file that has a bunch of different ones. I'm going to make a haunted house village and put it on my mantel! And if I don't want it there I'll find a home for them. They are too cute to not make and put out! Stoked.

This is a cut file I got from Silhouette and I LOVED the idea of using it for Halloween. Just thinking about a creepy forest theme. I've already used this cut file once. And I couldn't wait to use it again! The bats are also from Silhouette.

I hope you enjoyed my Halloween projects, this is the first time I'm decorating for Halloween so I need loads of stuff. If you have any ideas, let me know! I'm still looking for ideas for my front porch. ;o) Thanks for looking!

Christmas in July!

Few things make me happier than the holidays. I absolutely love them. So, I'm getting ready for my beloved season early this year... ;o)

Enjoy!!

Another challenge is upon us!

Ok, so I found this challenge and I HAD to do it. I don't know why, but I'm sort of obsessed with mint / soft pink combos. I think the combo is so beautiful and timeless. So I found this challenge at Play Date Cafe.

This is a color challenge and I've never done one before. It was a lot of fun to have such inspiration. But still have to stay in the parameters of the challenge!
So here is the color scheme I had to follow:

Beautiful. I just love it. So, here's the card I made for the challenge!

I had SO much fun with this one. Thanks for letting me enter!!

It's my turn again!

Here I am again with another project for The Scrapbooking Queen's Royal Court Design Team! Today is my day as Featured Designer! Whoop! I LOVE being on this design team. I've had so much stinkin' fun! It's brought out my inner princess, that's for sure!

For today's post I am using a stamp from "Royal Sayings Too". There are really some sweet sentiments on this set! Enjoy!

And here's the card I made!

The crowns were from a set of Rub-On's I had forever. I put them on some ribbon I had! It worked great!

I'm also entering it into My Crafting Channel's Fabric Friday Challenge!

And here's the stamp set I used!

Jinger's New Line!

So I'm gonna copy paste her latest blog post... Just in case you haven't seen it. ;)

Jinger's Post!:

"Sorry that I've been MIA for the last few weeks. Things have been so busy, I've just about burst at the seams getting ready for CHA, but it is all finally coming together and I'm so excited to share it with you all.
It has taken longer than I thought to get the proofs of my paper back from the printer, and all the embellishments shipped in, so it will be a few more weeks before my awesome design team will get to start creating projects. But in the mean time I will post pictures of the booth at CHA and post pictures of the papers, stickers and embellishments here on the blog.

So would you all like to know what the names (themes) of the two new lines are???? Drum roll please....

The Bella Vita line is Italian themed. Bella Vita means beautiful life in Italian, and I like to be reminded that life is beautiful and a wonderful gift. Once CHA starts I will put the paper images up here.

The second line is called Gypsy Queen. I wanted that bohemian, European feel in a line of paper and I think this turned out really cool. The colors are reds, golds, black some blue and orange. Look for the images by next week!!

It looks like we've added about 200 new followers to the blog.... How exciting, welcome everyone! I wanted to hit 2000, but I'm so happy with all the new people, so we will still do a give-away of the lines. I will announce the winners on August 1st.

I will be headed to CHA in Chicago by the end of the week, but I will keep everyone posted and we will have some fun. Love ya all!"

I just can't WAIT until she gets back from CHA! These lines sound adorable!!!

How do I look?

So, what do ya'll think about the new blog?! I LOVE LOVE LOVE it!! My old scheme was super cute but I had WAY too much going on. Plus the colors made it hard to read. So I found this fantastic pre made blog template I got from this shop on Etsy. However, I changed the background, I found some AWESOME free chevron downloads from this website. I really wanted something simple but pretty. I think I hit the nail on the head! I hope you all like it as much as I do. If I get tired of it, I can always go back to the old one!

Best Buddies

Ok, I've had this picture as the desktop on my laptop forever and I just love it. Before this picture was taken Hank (my older papillon, the black and white one on the left) HATED Baxter (the puppy on the right). He would avoid him at all costs, and when they did interact, Hank was MEAN to Baxter. But this day was a turning point. I walked in to find them cuddling!!! And they've been best friends ever since! So to mark this momentous occasion I made a scrapbook page!

I used The Scrapbooking Queen's stamp set "Royal Friends". It fits perfectly with my page and my pups! Oh and if you want to see more cute pups, you should go check out Princess Penelope's page. You won't be disappointed!!

I'm going to throw in some extra cuteness for ya. This was on Christmas eve last year. I didn't move my arm for a good half an hour because this little guy was passed out! I didn't have the heart to move him!! Look at that little face!

And here is my project! This is a recycled votive that I used at my wedding! My amazing step-mom Melanie spent hours gluing these twigs to glass tea light holders (my wedding was nature/bird themed). I thought they were just beautiful. So I kept them (all 70 of them) and I've been removing my wedding ribbon from them and giving them a whole new look! This one I wrapped in some lace I dyed! Thanks Melanie!

Recently I tried stamping on linen. And now I'm HOOKED!!

Take me out to the ballgame

Ok, so it's been a LONG while since I've done a challenge. And I found this one and thought it was perfect for the next project I was doing anyways! Yippee!! So, I was out with the hubby grocery shopping, and I found these ADORABLE vintage looking Cracker Jack boxes. I thought of how cute it would be to give those to a kid going to their first Major League game or something. So I decided to get them and spruce them up! And really, what's more American than baseball?! Perfect, perfect, perfect! So the challenge I'm doing is the "Oh I love America" challenge at My Sheri Crafts. Such a cute blog! Here's my project, enjoy!!

My Etsy Shop!

Hello everyone! So,  I don't like getting too serious on my blog. It's supposed to be a happy place, right?! However I wanted to get the word out there about my shop so here we go. My wonderful husband and I have been struggling with infertility for over a year now. This will be our first child. The doc said that we should start saving up for IVF (in vitro fertilization). Which is SUPER expensive. So, in hopes of raising a little cash for that, I'm selling some of my things I've made on Etsy. I'll be updating my shop regularly and purposefully making things for it. So if you like anything I have or my style or whatever, you can buy stuff there! I feel SO gross about promoting my shop like this, but desperate times call for desperate measures. ;) I appreciate each and every one of you!! So, SO much!

You can find my Etsy shop here!

Featured Designer Day!

Jillian Shelton www.paperalamode.com

It's that time again! I'm having such a blast on The Scrapbooking Queen's Royal Court Design Team! Her stamps are so cute, I've made so many projects from them! The latest is one of my favorites because my hubby is the subject!! I appreciate him so much. He's my best friend. You'd think I'd have done way more scrapbook pages about him! LOL

So I have that little Recollections display stand that holds 8X8 pages. I've been trying to fill it up slowly but surely. I have 20 pages to make and I'm only at 5!! This is going in my display stand.

The stamp set I'm using today is The Scrapbooking Queen's "Royal Wedding". Which is perfectly fitting for me to show the love I have for my sweetie. Enjoy!

So, I just experimented a while ago with stamping on fabric. I'm a sucker for natural looking fabrics and embellishments. Anyhoo, now that I started stamping on fabric, I can't stop!!! I love it!!! I've made my own personalized ribbon, fabric bookmarks, scrapbook and card embellishments, all kinds of stuff!
